Day 2 - Yellow Ribbons Tied

I've not forgot about my picture for today...and today I spent working on putting together a Newsletter for the spouses of my husband's flight. I volunteer as the Key Spouse and what I am supposed to do is keep in touch with the spouses that have a spouse deployed. I need to make sure they are okay, see if there is anything they need, and keep them updated on the happenings around the base and at the shop.

I receive tons of emails full of information. I was told to simply forward them...well not everyone enjoys receiving TONS of emails. So I sifted through the 93 messages I had and created a newsletter. I titled it "Yellow Ribbons Tied". When your spouse, son, daughter, father, mother, or whom every in your family is deployed...it's tradition to tie a yellow ribbon.

The newsletter ended up being 6 full pages! I did get to do a "little" bit of my own writing, but not much. I look forward to sending it out tomorrow and seeing what type of response I get from it. I worked really hard on it, loved every moment of it, and I am thrilled with out it turned out.

My husband did some editing for me and he thinks it should be sent to all spouses. That makes me feel good.

Wow that is so nice to have someone to keep in touch with you especially when they have a member of there family deployed.....wish they had something like that for my son which is in the Air Force, tho it was much easier on me this last time he was over in Iraq.

Keep up the great work Tonya......miss hearing from you!
